Another Monday, another day at the office. Today I decided to bring in our handy-dandy aranet4 CO₂ monitor to get a sense of how good the ventilation in my office was. To be honest, I was VERY pleasantly surprised... 530ppm is approximately the same concentration of CO₂ as in fresh outdoor air. Clearly the HVAC engineers in our building know what they're doing.
CO₂ concentration is a great proxy for measuring airborne viruses. Since humans all breathe out CO₂, a higher concentration of CO₂ would indicate a higher concentration of viruses in the air. Being immunocompromised, I need to take extra care and minimize my risks of exposure to any and all viruses (not just SARS-CoV-2).
The good news is that the office seems to be a reasonably safe place for me to hang out. The bad news is that the office seems to be a reasonably safe place for me to hang out.
